| For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: | Denn ihr wisset selbst, liebe Brüder, wie es war, als wir zu euch kamen. Es geschah nicht ohne Kraft, | nam ipsi scitis fratres introitum nostrum ad vos quia non inanis fuit |

| For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: | Denn unsre Predigt kam nicht aus trügerischem oder unlauterem Sinn, noch geschah sie mit List, | exhortatio enim nostra non de errore neque de inmunditia neque in dolo |

| But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: | ob wir uns wohl hätten wichtig machen können als Christi Apostel. | So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. | So hatten wir Herzenslust an euch und waren willig, euch mitzuteilen nicht allein das Evangelium Gottes, sondern auch unser Leben, darum daß wir euch lieb gewonnen hatten. | ita desiderantes vos cupide volebamus tradere vobis non solum evangelium Dei sed etiam animas nostras quoniam carissimi nobis facti estis |

| For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: | Damit seid ihr, liebe Brüder, den gleichen Weg geführt worden wie die Gemeinden Gottes in Judäa, die in Christus Jesus sind, denn ihr habt ebendasselbe erlitten von euren Landsleuten, was jene von den Juden. | vos enim imitatores facti estis fratres ecclesiarum Dei quae sunt in Iudaea in Christo Iesu quia eadem passi estis et vos a contribulibus vestris sicut et ipsi a Iudaeis |
